I read that in ancient cultures the wild turkey signifies gratitude, abundance and fertility. Now I am contemplating finding a wild turkey to stand by. Maybe some of the fertility vibes will transfer to me. Then again birds and I have a dubious past, I may just end up being attacked by a wild turkey.
Ironic, when you think about the fact that all domestic turkeys need to procreate via artificial insemination...
ReplyDelete*Praying to see a wild turkey!!!* haha!

Happy ICLW!
ReplyDeleteI think knowing my luck I would be attacked by the turkey too!!
I look forward to following your journey-always nice to find a fellow blogger in the same age range!
hi from ICLW...thinking about adopting a turkey now to put in the empty nursery space...
ReplyDeleteHi from ICLW! I never knew that about turkeys. This could explain some things -- when I lived out in the country a few years ago, all the hunters would shoot turkeys near my house. They were obviously killing my fertility icons!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if "Wild Turkey" (the drink) would work in the same way? :)
Hi there from ICLW. I'm a fellow POI-er, POF-er, depending where you fall on the nomenclature business. Anywho... you could always just carry around a bottle of Wild Turkey, but perhaps folks might think you're an alcoholic... (I keed, I keed!) Really? Wild turkeys as a symbol of fertility? That's a new one - thanks for sharing!

How I wish this was true - I live next door to the Wild Turkey Farm and they frequent our yard most days of the week. Maybe I need to get out there in the mornings and chase them around....
ReplyDeleteHi! Visiting from ICLW...stay away from wild birds. I don't care what anyone says.
ReplyDeleteHappy ICLW from #64. Apparently Kokopelli is also a fertility symbol which I got a tattoo of in college (before I was thinking about any fertility symbols or help needed in that area). Well, he had let me down and now it just seem ironic to have a fertility symbol tattoo and be infertile.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could eat a wild turkey? Just a thought.

Happy ICLW! I found you from there, and I like your style. I'm your newest fan! Good luck in your quest. :)
ReplyDeletehehe very funny..
ReplyDeleteI once heard elephants are also symbols of fertility and put a little one by my bed... to no effect, and I think its lost now..
LOL, that's awesome. Thanks for the laugh today. :)
